it is an odd feeling to feel good on election night. tonight feels good.
tonight, the majority of americans said no to the war in iraq. we said no to the right and their agenda of fear. we said no to republicans and their massive tax cuts for millionaires. most of all, tonight we said no to george w bush.
now let's build something big and strong and much more humane.
Don't forget that we also said no to Christian-fundamentalism based legislation! (Except for the Civil Union bans going through)

and, it was very difficult to go through the motions of teaching today. i underestimated what it would be like to return to the classrooms and hallways today in the wake of this huge and hostile move.
i wouldn't be at my university if not for affirmative action. and i belong at this institution. i firmly believe in the social benefits of affirmative action and i am deeply troubled by this revanchism.
